Coaching you can trust
I'm Andrew Wharton — a Wellington running coach, sport scientist and high-level masters runner. I hold a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Otago, every plan I write is evidence-based, and I've made the journey from casual runner to competing at a serious level myself.

The work that makes you faster rarely makes a good photo. Easy runs, honest sessions and patience, done whether anyone's watching or not.
“Andrew's expertise, lived experience and sage advice helped me achieve a 2:48 marathon PB aged 46, and selection to represent NZ at the World Trail & Mountain Running Champs in 2025.”
“Andrew is annoying. I regularly thought I had him beaten in a race, and then he'd pop back up on my shoulder again, waiting to sprint past me towards the finish line.”
“As a masters athlete, Andrew was always right there in the mix — holding his own through the toughest marathon workouts, whether it was grinding out a Mākara loop or pushing through a Karori Park session.”
